  • Dan Biggerstaff, Ph.D

    Technical Director, Organics

    Dan earned his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the College of Charleston in 1981 and his doctorate degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1986. He worked for Reichhold Chemical Company in the Analytical Research Group of the Emulsion Polymers Division from 1986 to 1990. He then worked as Technical Director at Trident Labs, an environmental testing laboratory from 1990 to 1997. While there he built the organic analysis department and expanded the inorganic and general chemistry departments.

    Dan, along with other investors, started o2si smart solutions (o2si) in 1997 originally to provide custom organic standards to the environmental industry. In 2001, o2si expanded into inorganic standards. Today, o2si provides organic, inorganic and products for the environmental, forensic, chemical, petrochemical, clinical, and pharmaceutical industries.

  • Mark E. Filla

    Technical Director, Inorganics

    Mark earned his B.S. degree in chemistry from North Carolina State University in 1990. He worked for IEA from 1990 to 1993 as an inorganic analyst. From 1993 to 2000 he worked under Ted Rains Ph.D. at High Purity Standards as a lead chemist. In 1998, he earned his M.B.A. from Charleston Southern University. In 2001 Mark joined o2si as Technical Director, Inorganics.

  • Hui-Chen Stavros, Ph.D

    Quality Control Manager

    Hui-Chen received her B.S. degree in Pharmacy from the Taipei Medical University, Taiwan in 1995 and her M.S. degree in Marine Biology from the National Taiwan Ocean University in 1997. Her Ph.D. was earned from Texas A&M University in 2005. She worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a postdoctoral researcher from 2005 to 2008. She joined o2si smart solutions (o2si) in 2008 as a chemist. She has more than ten years experience with various analytical instruments.

  • Kimberly Alford King

    Products and Special Projects

    Kimberly Alford King graduated from the College of Charleston with B.S. degrees in biology and flute performance. She is a flute teacher and enjoys leading and playing in various ensembles and special events around the state. Kim is also a volunteer at The Center for Birds of Prey.

  • Beth Bohachic

    Client Services and Logistics Manager

    Beth graduated from The Citadel with a B.S in Biology in 2004 and a M.A. in Biology in 2006. As an undergraduate at The Citadel, Beth lettered in both Women’s Soccer and Tennis. When not at o2si, Beth refines her customer service skills as a hostess at The Kiawah Island Club’s Cassique Clubhouse. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
